Blending in with the natural environment, our suites are located amidst the vineyards of the Semeli estate on the verdant hillslopes of the community of Koutsi, Corinthia, in northeastern Peloponnese. Nestled at an altitude of 600m and overlooking the fertile valley of Nemea, they offer breathtaking views of the surrounding upland region set against the imposing peaks of Mount Ziria.

Blessed with abundant water and surrounded by tall, ragged mountains that soften into rolling hills and gentle slopes, Nemea is a stunningly lush and beautiful place steeped in myth, legend, and history. Ancient Nemea was closely linked with Hercules, the great mythological hero who performed his first feat, the slaying of a ferocious lion, in one of the region’s mountain caves, not far from the site of the renowned Nemean Games held in honor of Zeus, king of the gods of Mt Olympus. At his nearby temple, the five standing columns majestically emerge from Nemea’s verdant, vineyard-covered landscape.

The Semeli Estate Suites are also a good starting point to explore the rest of the Peloponnese, an ancient land featuring a stunning array of archaeological and historical sites. These include gold-rich Mycenae, the fabulous stronghold of the Achaean kings immortalized in the Homeric epics and ancient Greek drama. To the north, one can visit the ancient acropolis of Corinth with its impressive medieval castle. To the east lies Epidaurus, celebrated for its astonishingly well preserved ancient theater, while to the west lies world-famous Olympia with its magnificent temple of Zeus and iconic stadium, where the Olympic Games were first held 2,800 years ago. Τo the south one should not miss the charming neoclassical town of Nauplion, Modern Greece’s first capital, the deserted Byzantine city of Mistra and the beautifully restored castletown of Monemvasia, known as the Gibraltar of the East.
